does this make common sense?Posted on June 1, 2006 at 00:15:31 AM by dannoynted1

Take a deep breath Cato... 5/31/2006 10:38 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Certainly things can get done the way they are now. I heard that the port could operate more efficiently if they had a way to accomodate larger ships. Supertankers wouldn't have to offload in the gulf onto other ships and have them deliver it. It would be faster if they brought it in themselves. This is only one issue for the bridge. Realistically, we won't have a say in the construction of the new bridge. Bigger people than us will make the decision regardless. In other words, I'm sure someone's pockets are going to benefit from it. I hate to say it Cato, I don't think Rock drilling will be the one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and just how could you possibly know who will benefit? is your pocket being lined? i am sure you have no "common sense" much less know anything about it when you get some then maybe you can get a "piece of the rock"

and notice neither of them deal with who will be making bucoooos of dinero. Corrosion? Not a factor for at leat another 50 years or so and that is if we stopped all maintainence. Think it will still be standing after a major hurricane? I say yes. Height?? Why height? How is it better to bring the ship all the way in than to offload away from the public. Public Safety must be a primary factor. These ships are clumsy at best. Let us not forget the Super Tanker Exxon Valdez. Bottom line is Social Status & Economic status of a select few at the expense of taxpayer money and our safety. Oh yeah, when we built cargo dock 1 it was designed for industry not parties and board rooms.Replies:

If you think that bringing bigger ships into the port will enhance the lives of the average resident I have a bridge to sell you.

Re: Some support the harbor bridge to get rich, not for community 6/1/2006 7:21 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rock Engineering wouldn't be the only beneficiary, it would be a stimulus for the entire community. Perhaps you don't have that forward-thinking ability. Even if Rock Engineering doesn't benefit from the actual design or construction, it would still benefit our firm in the long run. Even I can see that.

texwrites Posts: 321 Censorship Here 6/1/2006 12:31 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wowee My post about getting the bridge declared an historical landmark has been purged. This topic shows 16 posts and now only 9 remain. Good grief, did we hit a nerve? I was trying humor and someone thought it had possibilities I guess. How troubling that something like that would get the ax.

The guy (engineer) that built the harbor bridge led the project to built mount Rushmore. The bridge like the courthouse is a historical site.

by Major Carrales...if you didn't worry about that forum so much. A simple google search reveals that your best work is done outside that forum. Eric is going to remove your posts on principle until you "play by his rules." No matter what they be. Since he pays for that out of his own pocket I am suprise he allows the freedom of opinion he does. But that is regulated by his own whims. His current rule en re you is to appologize to him for what ever it is that is between you. That is between you and him. That is something only you and he can resolve...if you even want to do that. I don't know why he deleted the post on the bridge...other threadsters have raised the issue. As for my advise to you... strongly suggest you create a podcast or internet radio show. That is , in my opinion, you next move. Call into his show and ask him the questions. BTW, I enjoyed seeing you, dannoynted1 and meeting your brother. Thank for inviting me to that meeting, but I ould not go and needed to get back home by a certain hour. And,as you know, home is 70 miles from that point. Keep the faith and have a good one!!!

Two things that threaten the Corporate Welfare beneficiaries.....Posted on June 1, 2006 at 00:38:53 AM by Jaime Kenedeno

1) A movement against building a new bridge and tearing down a historical landmark residing in a historical designated area. Public Opinion can over rule imminent domain. 2)A challenge to the incumbent Gene Seaman to debate his well respected opponent Desert Storm Aviator Juan Garcia. The Agenda is clear. Where do you stand El Capitan? It just goes to demonstrate the cowardice of some and the selective nature of others when it comes to our constitution. A Sea Man or a Desert Storm Aviator We dont need your message board or KEYS Radio.

2)WATT happened to the Skatepark????

Del Mar College Double Standards - "Where Dreams become Nightmares"

dubble - 07:22pm Aug 27, 2005 Central

After reading many postings on this website for the past several months, I have decided to post concerning the topic of Del Mar Administrators and the way they continually use the systems to bypass addressing the real problems. When Del Mar College officials make the entire process of a grieving for student an ordeal within itself then something is definately wrong. When Del Mar College Attorney tries to downplay the instances which are reported and mis-inform the public or slant the facts in a way that makes Del Mar College look like they are "investigating" and "looking into" all reports of incorrect conduct, that is WRONG. Del Mar College has the accused, the attorneys, the investigators, and the eeoc representaves all eating lunch together. We have the people being investigated broadcasting the accusers name accross campus until other students come to Mr. Acussed rescue. We have witnesses, recordings, and transcripts which were excluded because they were not a "fit" for the Del Mar Administration's agenda. We have board rules which were not followed but yet no dicipline action was taken. NO Authority, No punishment, No Protection of Students, No Protection of Other faculty. IT ISN"T WRIGHT!

I Am Whom I Am - 07:27pm Aug 27, 2005 Central (#1 of 37) No it isn't, obviously the usual is occuring, make the accusers look incompetent so not enough people that even hear about such will take them seriously.. I would take a step back and regroup if I were them and define anothe method to ensure justice is served.

dubble - 07:32pm Aug 27, 2005 Central

(#2 of 37) Ok - you are who you are - IT ISN"T RIGHT! Intimidation, lack of action and denial. What we have here is a faculty who will never convict one of their own. Famous Quote: "I have tenure, I will never be fired from Del Mar College." Oh yeah - Mr. Acussed might also have alztheimers disease. I invite Ms. Icess Fernandez to ask any appropriate questions to get "the rest of the story." You sound like you may be part of the conspiracy. Oh yeah. One more thing. If the Del Mar College would just acknowledge the wrong that was done and appologize the issue would be settled. You are correct, the usual is being done. The guilty are moving behind the seens, changing grades, giving scholarships, hiring and sponsoring other students to protect themselves. Great news that you can see right through it. Ok Popeye!

Oh what's this - looks like another grievance. Sounds like words from a guilty soul!

Elwood Blues - 08:33pm Aug 27, 2005 Central (#5 of 37) "If tyranny and oppression come to this land,it will be guise of "fighting a foriegn enemy"..James Madison

IAM.."dubble" is Jaime..or his equally batty wife. If you're going to change screen names in a foolish attempt to try to decieve people,Jaime..at least be smart enough to misspell different words than the ones you always do. Honestly,dude..for a mental case..you're entirely too predictable.

dubble - 08:45pm Aug 27, 2005 Central (#6 of 37)

Hey Elwood, maybe you should do a little more research before you start trying to make assumptions. Anyhow - Mr. Blues maybe you could take a deep breath and digest a few truths that hurt a little. Swallow your pride and assume nothing. Don't give me the benefit of any doubt and don't trust anything I say. Please do your own research for your own agenda. And please don't address me and say that I am somebody else - I am not Jaime. I am not Jaime's wife. I am not you either. So - Please just reply to the content. If you can stick to the issues (unless you have an attention problem) please respond with facts as you know them. Maybe you try to read what people are saying instead of being an English teacher. I have no problem with somebody correcting my grammar or spelling, however those are small issues. The real issues in this situation are much more important than the mis-spelling of a few words.
